1. International non-profit Cultural Association
The national associations which subscribe to the Founding Charter of
New Acropolis and its guiding principles form part of an international
organization which has its headquarters in Brussels (O.I.N.A.). Its
associative structure ensures respect for the diversity, autonomy and
initiative of each of its member associations.
The way it operates allows it complete freedom of action, independent
of all political, religious or financial interests. It combines efforts
and wills, provides specific conditions for inner and outer growth
and encourages local initiatives which promote civic responsibility
and voluntary Service to the community.
Each member association is responsible to the authorities of its
own country and abides by the international regulations governing
associations.
The organization currently comprises 35 member associations, 21 representatives
and is present in 54 countries
2. Functioning
Under its constitution, the Board of Directors of the International
Association is formed by a representative from each of the affiliated
associations. Its most qualified members are then elected to form
part of the International Executive Board, which has the task of coordinating
the implementation of resolutions passed at each Annual General Meeting.
Delia Steinberg Guzmán has been President of the International
Organization since 1992. In 2005, Beatriz Diez-Canseco Bustamante
was appointed Co-President.
3. Funding
The International Association operates on a minimal budget which is
used to cover basic running costs.
Each country makes a proportional contribution to this budget and
manages its own resources autonomously, in accordance with the legislation
in force.
In 2005 this budget did not exceed $20.000 |
